Since the late seventies, a constant theme in Candida Hӧfer’s work has been the production of spaces by human beings and our way to inhabit them. The artists sets her-self in the point of view of the spectator, subsequently becoming the user. Her work consists in identifying and perceiving the natural compositions in space, which remain unaltered by her: photographs of interior spaces of public and semi-public buildings reveal the order and disorder found in their communal purpose. The intention of this vast examination is to reveal the architectonic space as a frame of human interaction. Each one of these spaces represented by this evolving corpus, pertain to a social sphere, this being the one that constitutes and is constituted by social relations. |
