Laureana Toledo began her career as a photographer. Later on she experienced with other mediums such as drawing, painting and video. Her work deals with the simultaneous representations of language and communication that, at the same time, show the progression of a work that revolves around photography not as an image reproduction mechanism but as a meaning inscription instrument.

Her fixation on seeing architecture as a modular code and translating the verbal into visual –trough a code that ascribes to each vocal a color that goes from black to white- formulates within her work an optical net that allows her to create a code that works as an abstraction simulation.
