Mauricio Alejo has developed a series of photographs and videos were he registers situations where common objects obtain a symbolic and sculptural character. The record of these actions and interventions is confined to his apartment, in order to register daily life and refer to the way he relates with space, considering the constant tension between the public and the private space.
The installations and the minimum actions he executes are part of this awareness of his documentation. At the same time they talk about the uncertainty and veracity on photography, they use the ambiguity that generates a universe of associations between materials, space and the collective and personal memory. His work comes from the effect of astonishment that simple things had over him.
